(James) Memories of the brilliant first trap at Bates Wood (we have actually only done 2 there in total!). From top - crescent, dog's tooth and slender brindle. It was a pretty packed trap as you can tell from the photos!


(James) A lovely Merveille du Jour (French for marvel of the day) at Denver. And it would have been had it not been surpassed by Simeon's Yellow -browed Warbler!






(James) From top: 2 pictures of one of the two reed daggers (nationally scarce B), showing distinctive markings, pinion streaked snout, and convolvulus hawkmoth (one of two) all trapped at Bates Wood during NMN. Also caught was a pale lemon sallow (nationally scarce A), but I didn't know it was rare so no photo!!!
