(James) March moth from the trap on 27th March. This time only 50 individuals were caught, but 11 species were present - March moth, 3 Oak beauty, Dark chestnut and Engrailed were the main highlights.

First trap of 2007

The first trap of 2007 was on 17th March - a week earlier than 2006. In 2006 the first trap (in Denver observatory garden) produced 3 moths. On 17th however, despite a cold night, a total of 156 individuals and 8 species were recorded at Bates Wood (6 spring species and 2 winter species)! Let's hope this is just because Bates Wood is amazing, rather than climate change having anything to do with it...
